Hot Days

This past weekend was super hot - over 100 degrees. We were wanting to get out of the house so we decided to go to the lake. We put Hailey in the back of the jeep were there was a good breeze and she napped the whole time. It took Ashley a little bit to warm up to the idea of getting into water that had sand on the bottom and was bigger then her bathtub. In the end Larry was swinging her around in the water and she was loving it!

That Monday both girls had to go to the doctor - Ashley had bronchitis and Hailey had a cold. They are both doing a lot better now though!

We took Larry to see the fireworks...

So our 4th of July was pretty laid back this year. We didn't really want to go anywhere for a BBQ or anything so we decided that we would just drive over to where the fireworks are going to be and just sit in the back of the jeep. All was great - Ashley ate some ice cream, Hailey slept, we were all relaxed. Until the fireworks started. We were very close to where they were setting them off (this was a new show this year so we had no idea) and it turns out Ashley does not like fireworks! So Ashley, Hailey and I sat in the back of the jeep with the gate shut while Larry stood out and watched the fireworks for us. Lucky for him it turned out to be a great show!

Sleep.....what's that??

Yes I know when you have a baby you aren't supposed to get any sleep - which I have been adjusting too. But last night was super bad. Ashley came down with Croup!! YUCK!!! Poor girl - she hates being sick and it scares her. We sat in the steam and watched Ice Age at 1am - we are real party animals here at the McKinney house!Luckily we were able to get an early doctors appointment this morning and they gave her some steroids to help move this along. Here is hoping to a good 3 hours of sleep tonight!

On a good note - Hailey had a doctors appointment this week and she is up to 6lbs 8ozs - 4ozs more then her birth weight! She is doing great!

Hailey Mae McKinney

Hailey was born June 30th at 5:46am!

It was a long 19 hours of labor - guess we don't always have the second one faster. She was born at 6lbs 4ozs and of course she has lost some of that so we are trying to get her to eat as much as possible. It's amazing how small 5lbs can be!

Ashley is being a GREAT big sister!! She was so happy when we got Hailey home - Ashley was napping but when she woke up she was happy to see her. Ashley keeps telling her "I love you sister" - how sweet is that!!
We are very blessed to have two wonderful girls!!
