Hailey is 2 Months
We had Hailey's 2 month check-up today. She is doing great - already weighs 9lbs!! The doctor was amazed at how long she could already hold her head up - she's so advanced =) Of course she did have to get 4 shots today though - poor little girl - she is sleeping it off now.

Blue Eyes
Balloon Festival

We got up at about 4:30am on Saturday to head out to the balloon festival at Chatfield Reservoir....ok so maybe we slept in until 5. It was a beautiful day and the balloons looked so pretty taking off. Ashley was a little nervous this year - there were a lot more people and I have to admit when they are filling the balloons it is loud. We ran into an old boss of Larry's and she helped eat his fruit cup - she isn't shy when she is hungry! Hailey pretty much slept thru the whole thing - but looking cute in the outfit that Whitney got her from OshKosh. We stayed for a little while but had to get home because we were having a BBQ at the house. It was a really great day!!
New Tile

When we moved into our house they had put down horrible WHITE linoleum in the kitchen and the entry. This past week we had new tile installed. We weren't even looking but there was a great sale at The Great Indoors on porcelain tile that we couldn't pass up. Then we found a great deal on a contractor to install since there was no way Larry had time to do it. I have a before and after picture...It looks great!!

Growing so fast....

It is hard to believe Hailey was born six weeks ago - it feels like we just got her home (minus the drama we received when we got home!). Of course I say this at 5:30 in the morning after only 3 hours of sleep last night - as she is finally sleeping! She is growing so fast which makes me sad - I want her to stay the small little peanut she was when we brought her home. Of course it is great to see the new things she does too. She has started to giggle in her sleep - I always wonder what is so funny to her?? She is really trying to hold her head up on her own too. I am trying to cherish the cuddle times we have when she has just ate and is so content to just lay her little head on my chest.
Ashley also seems to have grown up overnight. She really has become a great big sister. I know everyone keeps telling me to just wait for the times where she pinches her sister while nobody is looking but for right now she is great. She runs to Hailey anytime she makes a noise and asks "what's wrong?" She always wants to hug her, helps burp, puts the bottles in the sink, and even throws away the diapers. She is such a great helper! But on her own she has become very independent, she has started going off on her own to read books upstairs or listen to her stories on the computer. I even had to call her down for dinner the other night - how strange! Her favorite thing is talking on the phone now. She believes that people can see through the phone as well. The other day she tried to show Larry her band aid by holding the phone up to it when she was talking to him. I am constantly asked to call Daddy, Grandma, or Cherie so she can talk. She is such a girl - which I love!!

Hot Days

This past weekend was super hot - over 100 degrees. We were wanting to get out of the house so we decided to go to the lake. We put Hailey in the back of the jeep were there was a good breeze and she napped the whole time. It took Ashley a little bit to warm up to the idea of getting into water that had sand on the bottom and was bigger then her bathtub. In the end Larry was swinging her around in the water and she was loving it!
That Monday both girls had to go to the doctor - Ashley had bronchitis and Hailey had a cold. They are both doing a lot better now though!

We took Larry to see the fireworks...

So our 4th of July was pretty laid back this year. We didn't really want to go anywhere for a BBQ or anything so we decided that we would just drive over to where the fireworks are going to be and just sit in the back of the jeep. All was great - Ashley ate some ice cream, Hailey slept, we were all relaxed. Until the fireworks started. We were very close to where they were setting them off (this was a new show this year so we had no idea) and it turns out Ashley does not like fireworks! So Ashley, Hailey and I sat in the back of the jeep with the gate shut while Larry stood out and watched the fireworks for us. Lucky for him it turned out to be a great show!
